The pages are filled with messages of hope, joy, love, and deftly described examples of physical, inner and natural beauty. Though it takes only a short time to peruse the entire book, its verbal and pictorial images will remain with the reader long after he has put it aside.

In this slim volume of photography, digital imaging, and verse, multi-talented artist Peter Grahame has assembled an eloquent, sensual, and soulful celebration of the gay male spirit.
– Donn Saylor
This book is beautiful and needed! The introduction says it all. It is about time that we honored the body as temple and Grahame's book surely helps in doing that.
– Matthew Fox
A wonderful, original, and truly inspiring book of images and text. It feeds our souls and nourishes our hearts. It's a blessing to have such rich creativity and abundant Gay Spirit in our lives. This is one book our community needs right now.
– Authors Mark Thompson and Malcolm Boyd
During a visit to Albuquerque, my partner Gary and I walked through Peter's studio and were stunned by the beauty of the male images he had created. Now these sensual and deeply moving photos, with equally inspiring captions, are available to all of us in Contemplations of the Heart. Turn the pages slowly. Look carefully at each naked body. Read and re-read the words of wisdom. Let your mind wander and hear Spirit speak. Do not be surprised if your own wounded heart is healed, and your own tired spirit is revived and renewed in the process.
– Mel White, Soul Force
Contemplations of the Heart is courageous, and beautifully composed. The mentoring, male friendship, and transformational themes are much needed in an age of merely competitive or violent male relationships.
– Richard Rohr, Author
I love this book of beautiful men and thoughts. Grahame's photos celebrate the rapture of being in a male body. I get such pleasure "reading" it. Contemplations of the Heart makes me thankful for embodiment. It is a book to be pressed against your body and treasured.

Contemplations of the Heart: A book of Male Spirit with photography, digital imaging and text by Peter Grahame is a spiritual feast. The eyes are treated to rich juxtapositions of photographic images while the spirit is treated to simple, profound words that accompany them. The shame that men live with about their bodies, (This is not only a womans issue.) is addressed directly and honestly. Nude figures of a variety of physiques from elder to youth are presented, inviting one into contemplating the male body as "wonderfully made." as Psalm 139 puts it. It is beautiful, archetypally and spiritually expressive. The male body is Gods handiwork waking up to its own splendor, one that originated in the stars.
The time has come for welcoming male sexuality, and indeed the male spirit out of the exile of shame, trivializing pornography and beefcake display. The time has come for us to come out of a collective dark night of the soul and enter together a bright night of the spirit as Peter states under one of his images, a man sitting within a vast skyscape of stars, holding a star in his hand as it illuminates his face. This book ushers in this long overdue time. Each page, summons one to linger over its details, reflect deeply upon its message and claim ones own body as sacred.
